Memorials for the Class of 2012

Douglas Kevin Matzar-Garcia, 21, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Lexington Regional Health Center. He was born December 20, 1992, in Los Angeles, California, to Jose and Veronica (Garcia) Matzar. He moved to Lexington with his family when he was 6 1/2 years old. Doug was a 2012, graduate of Lexington High School. While in high school, he enjoyed shop class and helping in the community.
     Doug enjoyed music, drawing, baking when he was a younger boy, being a practical joker, and always had a big smile on his face. He was looking forward to the birth of his first baby in March and loved being an uncle. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. He will be so very missed by his loving family and friends.
     Survivors include his parents of Lexington, Nebraska. Fiance': Joann Terrazas of Lexington, Nebraska, Three brothers: Gabriel (Maria) Matzar; Jose (Guadalupe) Matzar; and, Elvis Matzar all of Lexington, Nebraska; sister, Stephanie Matzar of Lexington, Nebraska; two nieces, one nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Also surviving is his grandmother; Zoila Orozco of Guatemala.
     Doug was preceded in death by two grandpas, one grandma and one uncle.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 3, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jorge Canela officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 1-5 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at St. Ann's. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Please forward online condolences to the family through: www.reynoldslovefuneralhome.com
