Comments: I married my Junior High Sweetheart, Jim, and have treasured thirty seven years of marriage. We have four high-achieving adult children, all born within four years of each other. I delivered our boy-girl set of twins when I was thirty-five years old. Three of our children live in Spokane, Washington and our youngest daughter recently moved to Lexington where she is the Director of the recently organized YMCA. Our oldest son is married and our two daughters are both planning weddings, both to take place in the next year. Our youngest son is exploring career opportunities and is not as settled. We sponsored four exchange students over the years, two of which are close members of our extended family. Both sets of parent passed away, within five years from each other, over ten years ago.
We have lived in California for over thirty years and still don't feel at home. We bought a cabin at Johnson Lake twenty three years ago, and have spent our time experiencing "The Good Life" every summer! We recently purchased a log home on Lake Spokane and plan to spend our winters there and yet still enjoy summers at our Johnson Lake cabin in Nebraska. Jim hopes to retire from veterinary medicine within the next two years. He recently sold his practice.
I received a degree from Kearney State in 1973 which took me into many realms of education. I have owned and directed preschools, taught at the community college level, co-authored a state approved curriculum guide, and served on various boards over the years. I did "volunteer my life away" as a very concerned parent while we were raising our children in California.
Jim and I hope to travel extensively and give back to our local community area after Jim's retirement. I have thought some about completing a master's degree in interior design. My creative side still dictates my passions.
Life has been interesting and rewarding. To quote our high school biology teacher, Mr. Tiederman, "There is nothing more certain than change itself!" He was "right on" with that comment!

Now Living In: Lakewood, CO
Comments: I married Doug Adam 38 years ago in Kearney. We moved to Lakewood, CO in 1986. I was fortunate to begin my career with my first job in banking and finance, which I loved, and have worked as a credit analyst and financial accountant ever since. Doug is an estimator and supervisor in commercial HVAC in the Denver area.  We have two kids, Corey and Abby. Corey is a network engineer and Abby is a deputy sheriff. Four grandkids - Booger, Chewy, Jakie, & Arrugas (3 Shih Tzus and a Sharpei). We babysit a lot and they're always happy to come to grandma's house! No real grandkids yet :) My parents have passed away, so we don't make it to Lexington often. Doug's mom still lives on their farm south of Kearney. She would like us to build a home and retire there, but it is so hot in the summer! The retirement part sounds great! I think of all of our classmates often. It is always so nice to catch up on news and hear about everyone's adventures. I say special prayers and think of our good friend Marcia (Owens) Krohn every year about this time. Best wishes to all. Look forward to our 50th reunion!

My two sons are ages 25 and 22. Wade is to go to Afghanistan first part of July this year, still single. Casey the youngest is married to Rene Pavlish. Comments: After 20 years in Salt Lake City, my husband, Mark and I opened up a fishing lodge on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. We now spend our summers working in Alaska and our winters in southern New Mexico, where he grew up. Quite a contrast, but we enjoy it. We have two children, Christopher, 27, who is an organic farmer in Hawaii and Viva, 23, who is a baker and pastry chef in Eugene, Oregon. No grandchildren yet. I haven't been back to Lexington in more than 15 years as all my family there is gone. My twin sister, Kathy, lives in Oregon, so we visit often on our way back and forth to Alaska.

Comments: After graduating from University of Nebraska in 1974 with a degree in Accounting I went to work for Arthur Andersen for 18 years in Omaha, The Netherlands, Bermuda & Chicago. Subsequently, I ran a private equity firm that invested in the insurance industry and I have started and sold various insurance service companies. Currently, I am the President of Realtime Services. I have been married to Mary Cannon Veed since 1974 and we have three children. Glen has a Doctor in Psychology and is practicing in Naperville, Il. Glen is married to his high school sweetheart. Tom is graduating with his Masters in Architecture this June and is the reason I am missing the 40th reunion. Jennifer is studying to be a vet tech. Mary graduated from UNL and Creighton law school and is a partner in a law firm in Chicago. She is originally from Omaha. We try to spend as many weekends as possible at our lake cottage in Wisconsin (trying to carry on a Johnson Lake tradition). I hope everyone has a grand time at the 40th reunion.

Jacob lives in Denver and is a certified audio installer. We have no grandchildren unless you count their furry creatures. Mike owns an exterior maintenance company and I am an office coordinator for a mutual insurance company. Our house isn't completely empty - we are avid animal lovers and have five dogs (ranging from miniature schnauzers to mastiffs).  We try to get away on the Harley whenever we can. I visit my sister in Holdrege, but haven't been to Lex in years since Mom and Dad are gone.
