Memorials for the Class of 1980

Roy Alan Buchholz, 47, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.
   He was born October 30, 1961, at Lexington, Nebraska to Wayne Benjamin and Margie Marie (Fellows) Buchholz. Roy grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1980. He started working at Orthman Manufacturing during high school and later went to work for Monroe Auto at Cozad. At the time of his death he had spent more than 25 years at Monroe Auto as a Tool & Die machinist.
   He was united in marriage to Whitney Deardorff on November 20, 1999, at Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church at Lexington.
   Roy enjoyed woodworking, especially making wooden animals, welding and inventing ways to make every day chores easier to do. He also loved listening to music and being outdoors watching the eagles, target practicing and fishing.
   Roy was a "fantastic dad" who loved being with his family and friends.
   Survivors include his wife: Whitney Buchholz of Lexington, Nebraska,
Four sons: Isaac Buchholz of Florida, Caleb Buchholz of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kory Wattier of Hastings, Nebraska, Talbot Buchholz of Lexington, Nebraska. One brother: John (Brenda) Buchholz of Lexington, Nebraska Two sisters: Donna (Lenwood) Mobley of Lincoln, Nebraska Lois (Jim) Underwood of Lexington, Nebraska. Mother-in-law & father-in-law: Ralph & Charlene Ogier of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Sister-in-law: Nichole (Pat) Maez of Cozad, Nebraska, Brother-in-law: Tim Ogier of Gothenburg, Nebraska. Special Friends: Chris & Shelley Thompson of Elwood, Nebraska Jana Adams of Cozad, Nebraska. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
   Roy was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Craig Deardorff; one brother, Jim; grandparents and two uncles.
   Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church at Lexington, Nebraska with Ethel Fox, PMA and Reverend Karen Woo co-officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Cemetery next to the church.
   Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009, from l-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
   Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the family for later designation.

Dwayne Robert Morrison, 46, of North Platte died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Gothenburg. Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel at Gothenburg with the Rev. Eric Meissner officiating. Burial was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, at Maxwell.
     Morrison was born on Oct. 27, 1961, at Lexington to Harvey E. and June F. (Burr) Morrison. He attended rural Lexington schools and Lexington and Overton senior high schools.
     He served his country in the Army and worked at Gothenburg Feed Products Co. as a mill operator up until the time of his death.
     Morrison had resided at Lexington, Overton, Torrington, WY, and was most recently lived in North Platte.
     On May 3, 2005, he was united in marriage to Kimberly Kay Sherard at Elwood.
He enjoyed playing cards, watching football and phone calls to family, according to family members.
     Morrison was preceded in death by: his grandparents—William and Loretta Burr, Byrdia Farr and George Morrison.
     Survivors include: his wife, Kimberly Morrison of North Platte; a son, Jacob Allen Morrison of North Platte; a step-son, Scott James Sherard of Gothenburg; two daughters—Emily Nichole and Mariah Dawn Morrison, both of North Platte; his parents, Harvey and June Morrison of Lexington; three brothers—Phil (Deb) Morrison of Chaplen, SC, Mike (Kim) Morrison of Evans, CO, and Bill Morrison of Lexington; sister, Christina Morrison of Eddyville; sister-in-law, Tracy (Randy) Underwood of North Platte; brother-in-law, Robert (Judy) Sherard, Jr. of Gothenburg; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends—Darrel and Becky Fienner and Nick and Tony Canas.
     Memorials are suggested to Morrison's children at: 310 Sixth St., Gothenburg, NE 69138. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blase strauser.com. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg.
