Memorials for the Class of 1974

Eugene Allen Smith Jr., died Aug. 26, 2013 at his home in El Dorado, Kan. Eugene Allen Smith Jr., was born in Tulsa, Okla., on Nov. 10, 1955 to Eugene Sr. and Pearl (Roller) Smith. They moved to Lexington where he attended and graduated from Lexington schools. He met and married his wife, Anita (Kehl) and had three children. He moved his family to Elwood. Allen loved hunting, fishing and spending time on the lake and working as a USDA inspector at Tyson in Lexington. He lived in Colorado and moved to Kansas where he passed away at his home in El Dorado.
     Survivors include his son, Chad (Brenda) Smith from Johnson Lake; daughter. Autumn (Dustin) Johnson and daughters Reagan and Chloe from Wilcox, daughter, Crystal Smith (Lance Ryan) and daughter Anabelle from Hastings; former wife, Anita Smith from Elwood; sister, Janet Henderson from Lexington and sister Pam Spiehs from Gentry, Ark.
     Allen had many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and brother-in-law.

Robert Miller, age 56, of Cozad, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at his home in Cozad.
     Robert was born December 29, 1955 in Africa, at Kagnew Station, Asmara, Ethiopia/Eritrea to David and Margaretha (Foell) Miller. As a youngster, Robert and his family moved around the world often as a result of his father's military service. After his father's discharge from the U.S. Army, the family settled in Lexington, where Robert attended school, and graduated high school with the class of 1974.
     Following his schooling, Robert moved to Denver, Colorado, where he owned and operated a wood handling business. For nearly 30 years, he cut, split and delivered firewood to homes all around the Denver area. Robert then moved to Cozad to be closer to his family, where he owned several exceptional rental properties.
     Robert loved the mountains and nature. He was generous, at times to a fault, and gave freely to those around him in need. He was so very proud to have recently celebrated his 23rd year of sobriety with A.A.
     Robert was preceded in death by his father, David; paternal grandparents, Pete and Katherine Miller; and maternal grandparents, Jakob and Josefine Foell; maternal aunts and uncles, Fritz Foell, Jakob Foell, Vince & Klara Kaiser, Maximillion Kloo all from Germany and paternal aunts and uncles Pete Miller, John Miller, Hank Miller, Fred Miller, Alex Miller, Louise Gullion, Kate Gordon and Marie Dodge; cousins, David Gullion, Gene Dodson and Dianne Hollibaugh.
     Survivors include mother, Margaretha Kloepping; sister, Carolyn (Gayle) Wize of Willow Island; brother, David J. Miller of Cozad; niece, Kyla Wize and special friend Mat Habrock of Lincoln; nephew, Nathan (Alynne) Wize of Omaha; great niece and nephew, Emy and Alex of Omaha; 2 uncles, William (Jeanine) Miller of Lexington, Harold (Genie) Miller of Riverton, WY; and many other relatives and friends.
     A memorial has been established in his memory. Condolences may be shared at www.berrymanfuneralhome.com .
     Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington with Pastor Doug Smith officiating.
Visitation for memorial book signatures will be on Thursday, January 3, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.

Seward resident, 49
SEWARD Danny R. France, 49, of Seward died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in Seward.
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Volzke Mortuary in Seward with the Rev. Lowell Myers officiating. Burial will be at Seward Cemetery.
   He was born April 20, 1956, in Lexington to William and Pat (Fellows) France.
   Survivors include his wife, Jane; daughters, Pamela Higgins, Melissa Wagoner and Ashley, all of Seward; sisters, Victoria Lipovsky of Fairfield and Kristi Gruntorad of Lexington; six grandchildren; and stepsons, James Dye of Seward and Derek Tresnak of Lincoln.
   Additional survivors include sons-in-law, Tyler Higgins and Adam Wagoner, both of Seward; and brothers-in-law, Robert Lipovsky of Fairfield and Michael Gruntorad of Lexington.
   He graduated from Lexington High School in 1974 and also attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
   He worked at Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. as a computer programmer. He was a past member of Lincoln Trap and Skeet Club.
   He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tshura France Wagoner.

Allan F. Juel
Lindsay, Okla.
Allan F. Juel, 48, of Lindsay, Okla., formerly of Lexington, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
     Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, at First Christian Church in Lexington. Pastor Kyron C. BeDunnah will officiate.
     Visitation was Tuesday, March 8, at Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Allan's body will be cremated following services. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
     He was born March 26, 1956, at Lexington to Wilfred J. and Elizabeth C. (Sanks) Juel.
     Survivors include one son, Michael Juel of Lindsay, Okla., two daughters, Nicole Juel and Crystal Juel, both of Lindsay, Okla.; his mother, Betty Juel of Lexington; and one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Charles Rankin of Lindsay, Okla.
     Other survivors include two grandchildren, Jaszaman Gene and Nova Ann, both of Lindsay, Okla.
     Allan graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1974. He moved from Lexington to Dibble, Okla., five years ago. He is a member of First Christian Church.
     He was employed by Hart Manufacturing in Chickasha, Okla. Allan enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and being with his grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and several other relatives. Memorials are kindly suggested to the Juel Family.
